Short Week! I know y'all hated missing school so were jumping right back in! This week begins our unit on Sub-Saharan Africa. On Wednesday we will explore the political map of Africa and begin to learn where things are on this large and complex continent. On Thursday we are going to explore the climates and economies of Africa, and how they affect each other. We will also use Wednesday to look at some of the issues facing Africa today. On Friday we will explore some of the history that has led us to the current state of affairs in Africa.

This week will explore deeper into the reasons why the issues of the Middle East and North Africa are so difficult. We will do a Case Study on OPEC and the Arab League. We will also focus on the Yom Kippur War, a turning point in Israeli-Palestinian relations.
Students and Parents, this week will see the rigor of our class increase. Students are now equipped with all the tools required to study Geography. In the Learning Log (aka Interactive Notebook) check at the end of the week I will expect to see Chapters 19.2 & 21-22 of the workbook/study guide completed, as well as the political map of the Middle East and North Africa. |
