Last week before fall break! On Monday, we will officially begin the new unit we started to look at Friday. We will complete our Political and Physical Maps of Sub Saharan Africa and complete notes on land issues there. On Tuesday we will explore the roots of hunger and poverty. On Wednesday we will find out what food deserts are, how they work, and if there are any near us. On Thursday I will introduce our first Project Based Learning project: "Hunger Defined," where we will explore hunger and its possible solutions in Africa. On Friday we will do the first stage of research for our PBL.
Happy Labor Day! This week will begin with our first DBQ! We will work on it together for practice and to learn about the Arab-Israeli conflict. On Thursday students will complete their first lab with the famous Mrs. Ned! On Friday we will "Read like a Rockstar" about current events in MENA and begin a RAFT writing.
